Privacy Policy

Effective: 2026-09-07

Summary

Files, text and images you process on is.tools are handled entirely inside your browser and are never transmitted to our servers — we have no servers that could receive them. The site uses Google Analytics to understand how it is used and Google AdSense to show advertisements; both are operated by Google and may set cookies. Some tool settings are stored locally in your browser so they are remembered next time. We do not require accounts, do not collect names or email addresses through the site, and do not sell personal data. This policy is effective 2026-09-07.

Files and content you process

Every tool on this site works client-side. When you drop an image, PDF or text into a tool, it is read by your browser, processed on your device using JavaScript and WebAssembly, and the result is offered for download — all without a network request carrying your content. You can verify this by loading a tool page, disconnecting from the internet and using it. Because nothing is uploaded, we cannot see, store, recover or share anything you process.

Local storage in your browser

To make the tools convenient, the site stores small amounts of data in your browser's local storage and IndexedDB: the options you last chose in a tool (for example JPEG quality), the list of tools you used recently (shown on the home page), your theme preference, and — when you use a 'Continue with' button — the processed result, which is passed to the next tool and deleted as soon as it is read. This data stays on your device, is never sent to us, and can be cleared at any time through your browser's site-data settings. It is not used for tracking.

Analytics (Google Analytics 4)

We use Google Analytics 4 to measure page views, which tools are used, approximate country and device type, and how visitors arrive. Google Analytics sets cookies (such as _ga) and collects the page URL, referrer, browser and device information and a pseudonymous client identifier. IP addresses are not stored by Google Analytics 4. The data is processed by Google LLC under Google's privacy policy (policies.google.com/privacy). You can opt out with the Google Analytics opt-out browser add-on (tools.google.com/dlpage/gaoptout) or by blocking cookies for this site.

Advertising (Google AdSense)

This site displays advertisements served by Google AdSense. Google and its partners use cookies — including the DoubleClick cookie — to serve ads based on your prior visits to this and other websites and to measure ad performance. This may include personalised advertising based on your interests. You can opt out of personalised advertising at Google's Ads Settings (google.com/settings/ads) and, for many other ad networks, at aboutads.info/choices or youronlinechoices.eu. Third-party vendors, including Google, may use cookies to serve ads based on a user's prior visits; a list of Google's advertising partners and their policies is published by Google.

Visitors in the European Economic Area, the United Kingdom and Switzerland are shown a consent dialog (Google's certified consent management platform) before any advertising cookies are set, and can change or withdraw consent at any time from the link in the page footer. Where consent is declined, only non-personalised ads, which rely on context rather than tracking, are shown.

Hosting and server logs

The site is served as static files by Cloudflare's content delivery network. Cloudflare processes connection metadata (IP address, user agent, requested URL) to deliver the site and to protect it from abuse, and provides us with aggregate, non-identifying traffic statistics. We do not operate our own servers and do not receive individual request logs.

Children

The site is a general-audience utility and does not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13 (or the applicable age in your country). We collect no personal information through the tools themselves; analytics and advertising are governed by Google's policies, which include protections for children's data.

Your rights and choices

Because we hold no personal data about you, there is nothing for us to access, correct or delete; requests concerning data processed by Google Analytics or Google AdSense should be directed to Google, and the opt-out links above take effect immediately. If you are in the EEA, UK, California or another jurisdiction with data-protection rights, those rights apply to the third parties named here. You can block or delete cookies in your browser at any time; the tools will keep working.

Changes and contact

This policy may be updated when the site's analytics or advertising setup changes; the effective date at the top will be revised and material changes will be noted here. Questions about this policy can be sent to hello@is.tools.
